Community Involvement
Greater emphasis is placed on smaller organizations where we feel we can have meaningful impact and make a difference.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Through its evolution, Cormark and its predecessor company has always emphasized its desire to give back to the community in which we live and conduct business. We donate 1% of our pre-tax profit from the previous year to our selected charities. While the Daily Bread Food Bank is our primary charity, we also support a wide range of causes. Greater emphasis is placed on smaller organizations where we feel we can have meaningful impact and make a difference. While based in Toronto, the Daily Bread Food Bank provides us with national involvement in a very worthwhile cause.

Daily Bread Food Bank

“Cormark Securities Inc. has been a loyal and long-standing supporter of Daily Bread Food Bank’s work in the community. They have helped ensure that we have had food in times of need and the means to get it to those who need it most.

Their history of generosity goes back to 2002 and initiatives have included traders waiving their fees and donating proceeds to Daily Bread as well as helping Daily Bread become mortgage free in 2004.

In 2006, Cormark became the Founding Partner of the Sue Cox Community Action Fund. The fund helps maintain Daily Bread and its member agencies in the areas of infrastructure and programming, ensuring that communities within the GTA are sustained in the area of food relief. In 2008 alone, a total of 35 member agencies were supported in continuing their operations and feeding vulnerable members of their respective communities.

As a lead donor, Cormark’s support enables Daily Bread to secure nutritious food and get it to those who need it most, provide public education on the root causes and effects of poverty, and advocate on behalf of those in need in other critical areas of their lives.

We are ever-grateful for their leadership and friendship.”
